The D.W. Griffith Archive
In addition to their respective roles as executive officers of Silent Cinema, Inc., Messrs. Hillman and Coronado are the world's foremost private collectors on D.W. Griffith, the most important figure in American film history who directed such landmark silent films including The Birth of a Nation (1915) and Intolerance (1916). Their archive includes rare vintage original movie posters from Griffith's Biograph period (1908-1913), where he created the present day grammar of filmmaking, through his final film, The Struggle (1931). The archive also includes an extensive collection of vintage original lobby cards, still photographs, glass slides, programs, pressbooks, heralds, newspaper articles/advertisements and other rare items related to his films.
Please contact us if you have any material for sale related to D.W. Griffith (which includes personal items, documents, etc., in addition to movie memorabilia), as we are continuously acquiring new material for our archive.
