Vintage original 8 x 10 in. (20.3 x 25.4 cm.) U.S. single-weight gelatin silver glossy still photograph, very fine condition.

Considered one of the great masterworks of German silent cinema, Die Nibelungen: Siegfried was produced in Germany in 1924 and directed by the renowned Fritz Lang. This vintage original still photograph was printed for the film's original U.S. release from the original German glass negative. The image features an exterior shot depicting Koenigin Ute (Gertrud Arnold) talking to her daughter, Princess Kriemhild (Margarete Schon). This vintage original still photograph is in very fine condition with no visible flaws. This film is celebrated for the intricate patterns which appear in the costumes and set design. Rare.

Die Nibelungen is a duology of silent fantasy films created by Austrian director Fritz Lang in 1924--Die Nibelungen: Siegfried and Die Nibelungen: Kriemhild's Revenge. They were co-written by his then-wife Thea von Harbou, based upon the epic poem "Nibelungenlied," written around AD 1200.
