Vintage original 11 x 14 in. (27.9 x 35.6 cm.) U.S. lobby card, R-1922, very fine- condition.
The story of Enoch Arden was originally filmed as a two-reel production by the legendary D.W. Griffith in 1911. Four years later, director Christy Cabanne, a Griffith protegee, filmed this four-reel version which was supervised by Griffith and featured Alfred Paget in the title role. This beautiful color-tinted lobby card is from the film's 1922 theatrical re-release which was issued under the title The Fatal Marriage. The image depicts an exterior close shot of handsome Walter Fenn (Wallace Reid) talking to pretty Annie Lee (Lillian Gish). Both actors are seen wearing period costumes. This vintage original lobby card is in very fine- condition with light signs of foxing within the left side of the bottom border and along the edge of the right border, a tiny chip on the right border below the center and slightly rounded corners.
