Vintage original 11 x 14 in. (27.9 x 35.6 cm.) U.S. lobby card, near-fine condition.
This beautiful lobby card is from the popular silent film drama/romance Forever, produced in 1921 by Paramount Pictures, starring Wallace Reid. This film was based on the novel Peter Ibbeston by George L. Du Maurier and also upon the play of the same name by John Nathaniel Raphael. The sepia-tinted image features a full shot of star Wallace Reid (as Peter Ibbetson) angrily clenching his fists as an older well-dressed gentlemen enters the room of Mimsi (Elsie Ferguson). The caption in the lower center reads, "So Peter is my rival?". The border artwork features a romantic image of Ibbetson kissing Mimsi in front of a moonlit window. This vintage original lobby card has a sepia tint and is in near fine condition with a chip at the lower left corner; one pinhole in the center of the card approximately 1.5 in. from the left edge and one approximately 1.5 in. from the right edge; and light signs of wear at the right upper and lower corners.
This film was remade in 1935 as Peter Ibbeston by director Henry Hathaway and features Gary Cooper in the title role.
