Vintage original 11 x 14 in. (27.9 x 35.6 cm.) U.S. lobby card, near-fine condition.
The silent film western drama Hands Across the Border was distributed by FBO in 1926 and stars the renowned silent western actor Fred Thomson. The image features a great action sequence which depicts a close shot of Thomson (as Ted Drake) fighting with another man who obviously does not have the upper hand. The caption in the upper right corner reads A wild anger filled him as he felt his hands on this trickster! This lobby card is in near-fine condition with a small chip on the top left corner; a rounded bottom left corner; two pinholes near the top left corner, three pinholes near the top right corner, one pinhole above the bottom right corner and two pinholes along the left outer edge; a light 1.25 in. crease on the top right and bottom left corners which are barely noticeable; and a thin line of surface soiling along the left portion of the bottom edge. The border artwork depicts a photograph of Thomson astride his famous horse, Silver King. The colors are fresh and vibrant and this card looks great in person.
Hands Across the Border; FBO; 1926; dir: David Kirkland; story by: Frances Marion (Thomson's real-life wife); cast: Fred Thomson, Silver King the Horse, Bess Flowers, Tyrone Power Sr., William Courtright, Clarence Geldart, Tom Santschi.
