Item Number: CH-LTLOLDNY-LC1
Vintage original 11 x 14 in.  (27.9 x 35.6 cm.) U.S. lobby card, near-fine condition.

Produced by media tycoon William Randolph Hearst for his long-time companion, the actress Marion Davies, Little Old New York was a period comedy/romance based upon the play of the same name. The cards from this set are wonderful in that Miss Davies is featured eleven different times on this card. Five headshots depicting Miss Davies in various appearances from this film are featured in both the left and red borders which are complimented by a large image depicting a wistful-looking Patricia O'Day (Miss Davies' character in the film) playing a small harp in an exterior setting. The tag line She sang him songs learned as a child in Old Erin appears below the large image of Miss Davies. This lobby card is in near-fine condition with minor professional restoration to remove a light vertical fold down the center of the card and correct a 0.75 in. diagonal tear on the bottom border to the right of center. We took a minimalist approach when restoring this lobby card and chose to leave a small smudge mark in the top right corner, a small water stain in the top left corner and one below the top right corner and a tiny area of wear with two pinholes in the top portion of the left border as-is as opposed to having these air-brushed and restored. This is a beautiful lobby card featuring a unique design which depicts one of Hollywood's most beloved actresses.

For a period, Little Old New York set the record for the highest grossing film in American film history. Within two weeks, over 200,000 patrons had seen the film and the gross was $113,571.32. The previous record-holder for this coveted title was Douglas Fairbanks in Robin Hood (1922), with a total gross of $109,750.88.
