Vintage original 9.5 x 12 in. (24.1 x 30.5 cm.) U.S. sheet music, 1918, good condition.
This vintage sheet music features the legendary silent film comedian Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle. The song is entitled Oh Helen! by Chars. R. McCarron and Carey Morgan, copyright 1918, and billed at the top of the cover as "A comedy stuttering song.". The front cover features a large portrait shot of a smiling Arbuckle with a facsimile signature beneath ("Yours for fun, Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle") as well as a nice full-length shot of the comedian holding a baseball bat. Consisting of four pages (and printed on one folded piece of paper), the interior contains two pages of music and lyrics for the song. The back cover features an advertisement for the song "Wait and See" from the Universal film starring Mary McLaren and Jack Mulhall (and features a nice headshot of the couple).
This vintage original sheet music is in good condition only with the name, address and date (April 9, 1919) of the original owner written in ink in the right margin of the front cover. There is a thin vertical line of staining approximately 5.5 in. in length starting in Arbuckle's hair and extending downwards to his chin. There are two 0.5 in. horizontal tears on the right edge of the front cover (which appear as two tears in the same position on the left of the interior page and back cover) below the center as well as small random surface wrinkles.
