Vintage original 12 x 19 in. (30.5 x 48.3 cm.) U.S. bulletin, folded, very fine condition.
Similar to a herald, this vintage original bulletin is from the silent film drama Sold, produced in 1915 by Famous Players Film Company and co-directed by Hugh Ford and silent film pioneer Edwin S. Porter, the film stars Pauline Frederick in what was only her second film appearance. This vintage original bulletin was produced by Famous Players Film Company (similar to the famous Biograph Bulletins issued by the Biograph Company in New York) and features a large still photograph from a sequence in the film in the center with the caption "My God! I Have Killed Her!" below it and a "review" of the film beneath the photograph (which is actually a blurb on Miss Frederick and her role in this film).
This vintage original program is folded as originally issued (one horizontal and one vertical fold) and is in very fine condition with a very light horizontal crease approximately 0.75 in. below the top edge, which is especially rare for a piece of this vintage. It was printed on a glossy paper stock and features the Famous Players Film Commpany logo in the top border (which surrounds a portrait shot of Miss Frederick) as well as within the outer borders. Another log in each corner states "48 Famous Features a Year," which indicated that Famous Players Film Company was releasing (or planned to release) an astounding four feature films each month. These vintage original bulletins are very difficult to find and the example offered here is not only in oustanding condition but is also from one of the more desirable of the early film studios. Please note that the white background is an off-white and not a stark bright white as it appears in the accompanying photograph (this is an effect from our scanner). The top and bottom portions as well as the right edge of the bulletin do not appear in the photograph, as the bulletin is slightly larger than our scanner will accommodate.
