Vintage original 22 x 28 in. (55.9 x 71.1 cm.) U.S. half-sheet poster, unrestored, very good+ condition.

The Blot is a highly acclaimed silent film drama directed by Lois Weber, one of the most important female directors of the entire Silent Era. The image features a beautiful color-tinted close shot of the film's lead characters, Amelia Griggs (Claire Windsor) and Phil West (Louis Calhern) as they experience a dramatic moment from the film. This half-sheet poster is unrestored and in very good+ condition. There are 5 vertical creases across the poster; a light 0.75 in. and 3 in. diagonal crease on the top left corner; a 0.5 in. vertical and a 1.25 in. diagonal tear on the left side of the top border; 3 pinholes of varying sizes in the top left corner, 1 pinhole in the center of the top border and 2 pinholes of varying sizes in the top right corner; 3 pinhole in the center of the right border; a chip on the bottom right corner with a pinhole to the left of it; a 1.5 in vertical tear on the bottom border near the right corner with a pinhole to the left of it; 2 pinholes in the center of the bottom border and one in the bottom left corner; a 1.25 in. diagonal creases with two smaller creases inside this on the bottom left corner; 3 pinholes in the center of the left border; 3 pinholes within the background of the image to the right of Calhern's shoulder near the right border; and several small surface creases within Calhern's hair. While this rare poster presents itself very well in its original unrestored, condition, these minor flaws could easily be corrected by a talented restoration studio such as Poster Mountain if desired.

This highly acclaimed silent film was restored by noted silent film historian and scholar Kevin Brownlow's Photoplay Productions and is available on DVD.
