Vintage "Photoplay Edition" book, published by Grosset & Dunlap, 1928, hardback with dust jacket, photo-illustrated, good condition.
The popular silent film drama The Legion of the Condemned was released by Paramount Pictures in 1928 and directed by William A. Wellman (who directed the hugely successful Wings, the first recipient of the Academy's "Best Picture" award the previous year). This popular story revolving around World War I stars Gary Cooper and Fay Wray and features a screenplay by John Monk Saunders. This Photoplay Edition was novelized by Eustace H. Ball and published by Grosset & Dunlap, New York, in 1928. The book is in good condition and includes the original dust jacket, which has a 1 in. tear on the bottom of the spine, signs of wear along the top and bottom of the spine as well as along the edges of the jacket. The colors are fresh and vibrant and the front cover features beautifully rendered artwork of Gary Cooper and Fay Wray from a dramatic moment in this popular film.
