Vintage "Photoplay Edition" book, published by Grosset & Dunlap, 1928, hardback with dust jacket, photo-illustrated, very good+ condition.
The part-talkie musical The Singing Fool was released in 1928 by Warner Bros. and stars the renowned Al Jolson. Written by Hubert Dail, this Photoplay Edition book was published by Grosset & Dunlap in 1928 to coincide with the release of the film. Consisting of 218 pages, this hardback book features the original dust jacket and includes 7 full-page black-and-white photographs from the film. The colorful dust jacket artwork features a large portrait shot of Al Jolson and a fellow child actor. The book itself is in very fine condition with no visible flaws. The dust jacket is in very good+ condition with a 1.25" scrape on the lower portion of the front cover where the top surface of the paper is missing as well as minor small tears and chips along the top border. There is a 0.25 in. vertical tear on the bottom edge of the front cover and a 1 in. tear on the inside portion of the dust jacket where it folds over the front cover of the book.
