Vintage original 28 x 42 in. US one-sheet poster from the one-reel silent film comedy/drama, FAITHFUL, released in 1910 by the General Film Service, produced by the Biograph Company, and directed by D.W. Griffith.
The stone lithograph artwork depicts John Dobbs, AKA "Adonese" (Arthur V. Johnson) looking annoyed with his new and unwanted friend, Zeke, AKA "Faithful" (Mack Sennett), while he tries to woo his Sweetheart (Florence Barker) on a park bench . This is the only known example of this poster, which has been professionally linen-backed in fine condition with restoration to address only minor items in the folds and borders.
Faithful is very popular with fans of early Hollywood and its history, as it features an exterior scene taken where the Yamashiro restaruant now stands which looks south down upon what is now Franklin Avenue and the nearly-empty surrounding landscape. The house that is now home to the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) is clearly visible in the foreground.
